just finished watching. Hugh Jackman is hot stuff, but that's not why it's a good show. okay i really didnt like the semi-gory scenes of squashing birds and chopping fingers and hanging, drowning, bleeding people. but it was a brilliant film nonetheless. poor birds.

and in a sense, sometimes, having the truth hidden from you is like watching a magic trick. you are intrigued, perplexed, indignant. you want to know, yet you don't really want to figure it out, cos you want to be fooled.
