then i have studied Pride and Prejudice long enough to recognize that flaws of manner, countenance, expression and though processes are not conscious faults of the socially reticent or inept. we learn that incompatibility of mind is the greatest characteristic in companionship which should ideally be eschewed as much as possibly can be. yet the need for and demand of social decorum, propriety, prudence and astute judgement is undisputable, thus the wiser often adopt a cycle of blank skies and then coloring-by-numbers.

hope i covered the characteristics well enough in my essay question. to be certain, there are many Collins and Darcys and Elizabeths and Lydias out there. Though few are comparable to the side of Darcy all readers grow to adore and many are simply a far cry and cover only the irksome impression he gives in the early part of the novel.

as Dina says, the quote "stupid men are the only ones worth knowing after all" can be manipulated in a list of ways which is hardly exhaustive. oh what delightful contexts that phrase can be twisted into.
